The Reserve Bank has stated that Zee News Limited has reached the overall limit of 26 per cent of its paid up equity capital.so without obtaining the prior permission of the RBI no further purchases of equity shares of Zee News Limited, should be made.

Investment by FIIs/NRIs/PIOs under PIS : Zee News Limited

The Reserve Bank of India on January 9, 2007 has notified that no further purchases of equity shares of Zee News Limited, should be made on behalf of Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs)/Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) under Portfolio Investment Scheme (PIS) through stock exchanges in India without obtaining the prior permission of the Reserve Bank. The Reserve Bank has stated that Zee News Limited has reached the overall limit of 26 per cent of its paid up equity capital.
